Changes and improvements (lots of
them) are scheduled to be made to Agent Home search on September 8—only 2 weeks
away. For better search results, even before the improvements, try these
Choose the right product before you search. The
results apply only to the product you selected. Be sure you choose the correct
product version too.
Search for just the main words in an article.
You'll generally get better results with 2 or 3 words. Using a single word,
such as "print" can produce too many results. If that happens, you can always
add words and search again. For example, searching for "print invoice" gives
much better results.
For archived content, use Support Home to search. But
remember, Agent Home search has more current information. If you search Agent
Home for the main words, instead of searching for a specific archived KBID,
you'll probably find more up-to-date information.
If you really need that archived content: On Support
Home, select the product family, and select "Older Products" as the version.
Agent Home search has an Older Products option, but we're still ironing out a
few bugs with it.
You don't need the exact word
. We've added synonyms so "changeorder" will find articles with "change
order" and "changeorder," "qbw" finds articles with "company file" and "qbw,"
and so on. If you try this and it doesn't work, the system might not have
updated yet. It'll be there. Don't give up.
Agent Home search also
uses "stemming," which means it looks for variations on a word. If you enter
"print invoice," it finds print invoice, printed invoices, printing an
invoice, and any other variations of print and invoice.
No need to specify QuickBooks or QB
. The search knows that QB means QuickBooks, but since this knowledgebase is all
about QuickBooks, specifying it is superfluous and doesn't improve your search
a temporary tip. The issue will be fixed soon, but until
